The Answer

It all started a few years back … I always paid my bills, especially my credit cards. Sometimes I could pay them off after using them and then at other times or months I could only pay a minimum. Either way I always made a payment. Then one month my sister was having difficulty making her ends meet, she asked if I could help her out. So I figured missing one months payment wouldn't hurt to much...to my surprise it hurt really bad...within two weeks time I had already gotten a notice in the mail that my account had been turned over to creditors. So I called them up and asked if I could make arrangements to pay what little  was owed...They wouldn't accept any payments smaller than what was owed. So my minimum payment jumped from a double digit number to a triple digit number and they wanted no less at this point...At this point I went with a money management firm to pay off these credit card bills...This went on for a year and the payments instead of going down were actually going up...So then I went to Credit Counseling and tried to make things work...and they told me that I was a good candidate for bankruptcy. So this is where I stand right now...I showed up for court on the 3rd of March and they didn't show up for court like I showed trying to resolve this issue instead I'm being threatened to pay more interest on top of all this!

A typical month for me … Electric  $224.31
                                            Water    $101.78
                                            Gas       $93.08
                                           Cox        $260.79
                                       Walgreens  $375.00
                                        Lincare      $21.93
                                        UKH         $20.47
                                         KMC        $27.71
                                          AT&T       $103.58
                                    Crosswinds    $20.00
                                     Amazon         $28.00
                                                       __________
                                                    $1276.65
On top of all this I have new medical bills that will have to be paid...I've got colon cancer and they said since I don't have any supplemental insurance with my Medicare my bill will be over $7,000 dollars for a start....I'm on Social Security and can't really afford any more bills...Especially if it's interest from a debt that has gotten out of hand...to the point they wouldn't accept any small payments that I can only afford...
